July 2017. Educational Administration Area Group within the Faculty of Education, EAF&P, University of Manitoba, is opening a new PhD cohort in Educational Administration in September 2018. March 3-4, 2017. The Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba is organzing its Annual Graduate Student Symposium to showcase excellent research done by our graduate students. This year one of Dr. Tamtik's graduate students - Adrian Deakin - will present his research conducted as part of his graduate course paper. Dr. Tamtik is serving as a co-facilitator with a graduate student Erica Hildebrand on the session titled 'Conversations about Leadership'. Please see the conference program HERE. May 28-30, 2017. Ryerson University in Toronto hosted a successful Congress and Conference of Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education (CSSHE). Together with her collaborators Emma Sabzalieva (OISE/University of Toronto) and Soon Young Jang (OISE/University of Toronto) Dr. Tamtik chaired and co-presented at two sessions within Internationalization of Higher Education track. The first presentation focused on international legitimacy-building in Estonia and Kazakhstan, the second presentation examined language issues in higher education policies in the Baltic States. Dr. Tamtik serves as a Track Chair and Board Liaison for CSSHE's Internationalization of Higher Eduation. She also served as a committee member for CSSHE's George L. Geis Award for best Doctoral Dissertation. Congratulations to Dr. Olivier Bégin-Caouette for winning the award!IMG 6560

February 16, 2017WestCAST (Western Canadian Association for Student Teaching) is an education conference held annually by the Faculties of Education in the Western Provinces of Canada. Now in its 30th year, the Faculty of Education at Vancouver Island University was the conference host of WestCAST held in Nanaimo on Feb. 16 & 17, 2017. Courtney Van De Kerckhove presented her work that was inspired by the research conducted in collaboration with Dr. Merli Tamtik in the summer of 2016 as part of her Undergraduate Researh Award. Well done Courtney!

WestCAST 2018 will be organized by the Faculty of Education at the University of Manitoba.
