September 6, 2016. For the first time in history, the Department of Educational Administration, Foundations and Psychology (EAF&P) hold its first MEd Graduate Student Orientation. The goal was to welcome our new and returning graduate students and provide them with the opportunity to get to know people in the department. The program was coordinated by Dr. Merli Tamtik with the help of other faculty members. The students really appreciated the networking opportunity, hearing from others in the program and getting their course-related questions answered. Hopefully this strong start to the academic year becomes an annual tradition for EAF&P. Take a look at the program HERE.

June 1, 2016. As part of Congress 2016, Canadian Society for the Study of Higher Education (CSSHE) held its annual business meeting in Calgary, AB, where Dr. Merli Tamtik was elected to serve in a Board of Directors for a two-year term. The Board consists of four officers and six members-at-large elected at the annual meeting held with the conference each spring. Starting 2016 the Board will be led by Dr. Robert Shea (Memorial University of Newfoundland). Dr. Tamtik also serves as a CSSHE Track-Chair for Internationalization of Higher Education.

August 31, 2016. Dr. Tamtik was invited to contribute a post @CIHE, which is the blog of the Center for the Study of Canadian and International Higher Education, based at the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, University of Toronto. The blogpost was informed by Dr. Tamtik's SSHRC-funded postdoctoral research project on "Policy Coordination in Canadian Innovation Policy". May 12, 2016. Dr. Tamtik was invited to contribute a post @Europe of Knowledge, which is the official blog for ECPR Standing Group on the Politics of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation. This Standing Group brings together scholars whose work relates to the deeply interconnected fields of higher education, research, and innovation to encourage debates and research on the politics and policies in these areas.
